About DialBop: the store behind the red handset from the video
DialBop opened on September 5, 2026, to sell one thing: a corded 1980s telephone handset that plugs into a modern phone. This page is the short version of how that happened, kept because people keep asking whether we are the ones from the video.
The video
In the summer of 2026 a short clip went around: a phone on a white sheet lights up with a call from Mom, and a hand lifts a bright red coiled-cord handset instead of the phone. The caption called it an unnecessary purchase, necessary for happiness. Roughly three out of four comments under it asked the same question, where do I buy this, and nobody had an answer, because the person filming was not selling anything.
Opening the store
We set the store up in the first days of September. The product page went live behind a password on September 3, while we sorted the plug question and photographed the handset in every colour with the full cord and plug visible, so nobody would have to guess what arrives. On September 5 we took the password off and the first order came in that day.
What changed in the first week
- September 6: we added matte black. The red and the pink sold, but a lot of the first orders came from men who asked for something they would not have to explain.
- September 6: we opened shipping to every country Shopify allows, with free tracked delivery on every order.
- September 8: we added a Lightning option for iPhone 14 and older, because a plain USB-C handset does nothing in a Lightning port. Those orders ship with the adapter in the box.
How we sell it
We do not call it hi-fi, because it is not. Your voice comes through with the warm tone of an old telephone, and the cord is a desk-and-armchair cord. We say both on the product page before you pay, and we match the plug to your phone before it ships. Every handset carries a 30-day guarantee, and support@dialbop.com is read by a person.
Where it is sold
At dialbop.com and nowhere else. We have no Amazon, Walmart, Temu or eBay listings and no resellers. Look-alike stores with different names have appeared since the video went around, and we cannot vouch for them. The where to buy page explains how to tell it is us.
